This website was created for the sole purpose of educating young minds about the dress code problems that occur in our schools. As a girl who has been found "violating" the school dress code I understand the humiliation and embarrassing moments when being approach because of your outfit. I personally think the best way to fight for individual rights is not just demonstrations but knowledge so you know when your rights are being revoked.
We see in the news about women's clothing attracting unwanted attention. However, it is not only women that are subjected to negative consequences based on their clothing. Men and boys in school's, although not as common, do struggle with specific school dress codes. This site is designed to promote equal rights in schools for all people. Instead of embracing the beauty in being a girl clothing has made women more susceptible to rape, sexual assault, and slut shaming in schools. It has gotten to the point that in some schools, girls, as young as elementary school, are being prohibited from wearing skirts and dresses. Some boys are being questioned by their choice in clothing styles. In some schools boys have restrictions on hair length, prohibiting earrings, facial hair, and some even hats.
My site is designed to promote law cases that set precedence in some school's dress code, share examples of people being shamed for their clothing, and provide news videos are stories about how students are addressing the issue.
